From Nakula to Heaven...

[le Q's top-10 favourites from le paradise island of gods]

10. the High life…Balinese stylin`!

- 5 nights in our very own villa. Need I say more? Definitely not an everyday ritual back home.
- private pool…’nuff said. =P
- open shower enclave in our suite. What can I say but...a bath under tha blue skies really widen horizons...
- our superduper nice personal butler traveling 1 hour from Seminyak to our private dinner location at the
beautifully tucked away Canggu beach to deliver replacement digicam batteries cos they went flat on us!
- tha bestest drivers ever: Nyoman & Dewa.

9. 6 hours pampering session @ Spa Hati

Quaint little spa with a good cause; it's Bali Hati Foundation which run projects that give back to the peoplesss.
Value for money!: full body massage + lulur scrub + facial + manicure + sauna + jacuzzi for a cool SGD 100ish.
They'll even throw in free transport around Ubud & the usual spa refreshments. Definitely no Banyan Tree or something but Spa Hati is a must-do for it's feel good factor, inside and out.

8. Bebeks bebeks and more bebeks…Quack!!!

Bebek Bengil 1 @ Padang Tegal. – the Mister raved about their unbeatable Crispy Duck which is already in itself an Ubud landmark. Charming outdoor setting. Classy but not prissy. Loved the spacious Indonesian-styled raised platform dining and the Black Russian Pie…Yes, yes…everything that goes into the ubiquitous Black Russian drink goes into this one-of-a-kind dessert.

7. Body & Soul

Ultra-chic retail therapy. This joint is testament to the fact that a grrl can never have enuff earrings, clothes & yeah tha whole works!

6. White water rafting

Nothing beats living out my ultimate "The River Wild’ fantasy except that I don’t need Kevin Bacon.
I have the newest Sobek guide recruit, "Masta S*" (haha) on my side. Weee!

5. Ubud

Forget Kuta- I'm sorry but Kuta beach is a wasteland, Ubud is the place to be. Where the air is fresher and where all the quality eats are at. No late night parties here but they have the Royal Pita Maha ran by the Ubud royal family and has stunning views of the Ayung River gorge…
(That's where we gonna stay next right baybeeee? Hihihi...hee!)

4. "Death by CHOCOLATE for fallen angels" (sweet, sweet, sweeter lurve)

- Being able to drop in the New York-esque chic, open 24 hours Soho Diner at Jl Laksmana at any time of the day to grab their signature flourless chocolate cake…"Fallen Angel Cake"

- Biting into the "internationally acclaimed" Death by Chocolate Cake in one of their lush garden pavilion fit for an ancient king at Café Wayan, Ubud. Recommended by the foremost authorities on food- Bon Appetit and Food & Wine magazines, so that should say something ayye?

- The ultra sinful Chocolate Lava Explosion at Tugu Hotel Bali (think: thin shreds of honey 'sticks' on the side!) So good it makes you forget that you're already full from a lavish dinner!

- Relishin' a tall glass of perfecly blended creamy avocado & chocolate syrup on a HOT HOT day at the hip-beachfront located Zanzibar. (despite the fact that the messy debris-strewn Pantai Double Six is not all that great a view!)

3. Strolling on Canggu Beach pre-sunset sipping on some liquid gold Moet with HIM. La Dolce Vita...

2. why Tugu Hotel is my favouritest place in Bali:-
(i) THE MOST exquisitely decorated hotel in this side of the world I reckon. Them Hiltons & Hyatts can't hold a candle to this very couture and tastefully decorated hotel. Calling it a hotel does'nt even seem right. It's more like an art musuem of sorts. Tugu Hotel Bali is a work of art in a class of its own. Very meticulous and well thought out design and concept. There's really amazingly something at every corner to catch the eye. A definite plus is their own private beach! Tho I think they could work on the pool a lil bit more…but perhaps it was purposely minimalized so not as to steal the grandeur away from the rest of the fancy décor.
(ii) SOUL FOOD! Not only do they have top notch décor and architecture. EVERYTHING that came out of their kitchen is just marvelous. It's almost like tha food is a work of art too.
(iii)Angels!
Thank you Dewi for helping me arrange THE PERFECT dinner under the stars. Immaculate attention right down to the last detail! Right down to the simple yet cleverly personalized handwritten message on the garden leaf. Imagine that! Keeping it thorough...just the way I like it!

1. MY BIRTHDAY BWOY!
The only reason tha whole trip was worthwhile. (p.s. u should sing for me more, darling). xxx
